Tirweddau Llyn 2017

\\2017

This series of work is inspired by the landscape of the Llyn Peninsula in Wales. I believe it is important to have an element of randomness in my work, and I do this by using incompatible mediums such as oil and water, as well as using a variety of supports which have varying levels of paint adhesion.

The unpredictability of working in this manner often yields surprising results. I build up and wear away layers of paint to try and depict the landscape itself or to give a sense of  the place. This process of working is meant to reflect natural mechanisms such as wind and sea erosion which are ubiquitous to the Llyn landscape.

Mae’r gyfres yma o waith wedi ei hysbrydoli gan dirwedd Pen Llyn. Mae fy ngwaith peintio yn aml yn cynnwys elfen o hap a damwain ac rwy’n cyflawni hyn gan ddefnyddio deunyddiau anghydnaws megis olew a dŵr.

Mae gweithio gyda cyfrwng sydd tu hwnt i reolaeth yr artist yn medru bod yn sialens ac yn aml yn cynhyrchu canlyniadau annisgwyl. Bydd nifer o haenau yn cael eu hadeiladu a’u crafu i ffwrdd mewn proses sy’n adlewyrchiad o brosesau naturiol megis erydiad môr a gwynt, prosesau ddaearyddol hollbresennol yn nhirwedd Llyn.
